RDCC AGM

This is a calling notice for the 2021-22 Annual General Meeting which will be held on 10th May 2022 at our usual venue, commencing 7:30pm. Please note that this date has been moved one week due to availability.
We will bring along a nomination sheet to meetings leading up to the AGM itself so that you can nominate the people that you want to run the club on your behalf.

It would be good to get some new members on the committee to keep the ideas coming and also to share the tasks that need to be done (this really is minimal).

Specifically, we do need a new Secretary as Ian Brown has stepped down from the role.

If you wish to nominate then either write them on the sheet at the club or email Sec@ribblesdalecameraclub.org.uk with the names suggested.

L&CPU Club Comp

Ribblesdale entered the 2022 Club Competition held at Elm Bank in Eccles over the weekend of 2/3rd April – we entered the Digital section which comprised of 16 ‘Open’ images and 8 Nature images. In the open section we finished in a very creditable 11th place which is a great results for our small club. We fared less well in a vhighly competitive Nature section but still managed 19th overall in the L&CPU. Well done to all who had images selected for this event. If you really want to see some of the best photography in the north-west of England then I highly recommend attending this competition in years to come. Our entries are shown below…

ICPA KO Results

Ribblesdale recently finished in a very respectable 4th place in the ICPA Knock-OIut competition held at Padiham CC. The entry consisted of 10 images plus a spare for any tie-break that may be needed. The resulting league table (shown below) didn’t follow the usual pattern with several ‘smaller’ clubs doing well.

Harley & RJ Model Shoot

Tuesday saw our latest in-house model shoot featuring RJ and Clitheroe’s own Casey. Members turned out in good numbers and I saw lots of great images on the backs of cameras. Hopefully we’ll see some of these making an appearance in the upcoming competitions. Below are some shots and ‘Behind the Scenes’ grabs.

Small Club Challenge 2022

March ’22 saw the inaugural ‘Small Club Challenge’, a friendly inter-club battle hosted by Ribblesdale and featuring Earby, Penistone and Afan Nedd. The battle was created in the post-covid (hopefully) season as we looked for new things to add to the syllabus. An invite was put out on the UK Club Photography page on Facebook ands attracted a good deal of enquiries. The clubs needed to be similar in size to Ribblesdale, so around the 25 member mark.

Images were chosen predominantly from the 21-22 season with a few from the previous season and Ribblesdale’s entry consisted of work by 16 different authors. The battle was judged by Lorraine Robins who gave comments and scores to 80 images on the night and also selected her favourite images from Creative, Portrait, Mono, Landscape & Nature genres plus her overall favourite.

It was a tight battle at the the top as Afan Nedd and Ribblesdale swapped places a few times during proceedings with the host club narrowly coming out on top. Many thanks to the clubs for entering this battle and hello to some new friendships. The images scoring 20 are shown below.
