Welcome to Ribblesdale and District Camera Club who were founded back in 1940 when photography was still relatively young.
Photography is an enthralling yet challenging hobby and when people buy their first digital camera they frequently look for guidance and inspiration on how to take better photographs. Whilst we are not a teaching establishment we can provide that guidance and help through our member’s wide array of skills and knowledge that they have developed over many years. We have highly skilled and accomplished members in all genres of photography including; Nature, Portraiture, Mono, Sport, Creative and making that perfect print.
We are committed to the development of photography and image making as an art form, while equally promoting friendship, cooperation and the exchange of ideas among members.
During the season – September to May - we run an engaging and first class programme of events, which include sessions on a weekly basis for our members. These include Tuesday evening meetings with visiting lecturers, competitions, member presentations and social gatherings. Tea and coffee, often with homemade cakes and biscuits, are available at all of our meetings throughout the season.
We also compete in both Regional and National photography competitions where we are continually challenging to build our reputation for top quality photography. We are a registered charity and as such we offer services to the local community when appropriate opportunities arise
Members of all levels, from beginner to established photographer, are welcome and I invite you to join us and have fun with your photography.
